Helping Hands Helping Animals
FOJA, an all volunteer organization, was formed in 2008, and is dedicated to the well-being of homeless animals received by Animal Care and Protective Services. Each year, the shelter takes in thousands of unwanted, abused, and neglected animals. Our focus is to end unnecessary euthanasia, educate the public about responsible pet ownership, and enrich the lives of the shelter animals. All funds donated to FOJA go directly toward achieving these goals.
It is FOJA's mission to help.
A new FOJA milestone! As of December 2025, FOJA has now treated OVER 5,000 shelter dogs dogs for heartworm disease!
That’s over 5,000 shelter dogs who were able to find loving homes all because of YOUR donations to FOJA which provides the funding needed to cover the medical expense of heartworm treatment. FOJA was formed in 2008 with the heartworm treatment program as our flagship program and has expanded to other outside medical needs of the shelter animals. Help us further our mission into 2026 by continuing to support FOJA. As always, no donation amount is too small and always makes a big difference!
