Be a Friend
Friends of Jacksonville Animals works directly with Jacksonvilleʼs Animal Care and Protective Services to benefit the lives of shelter animals by focusing on fund raising to assist with medical care, enrich the shelter environment, promote adoptions, and reduce euthanasia. We serve as an advocate for animal welfare.
About the Organization
Overpopulation is a major problem for Jacksonville Animals. Every year, Jacksonvilleʼs Animal Care and Protective Services takes in approximately 16,000 unwanted, abused, and neglected animals. Sadly, a little over 4,000 do not find adoptive homes, and have to be euthanized.
FOJA was founded in 2008, and is dedicated to the well-being of homeless animals received by the shelter. Our focus is to end unnecessary euthanasia and to educate the public about responsible pet ownership. All funds donated to FOJA go to aid local homeless animals.
